IDE(310)

The Teacher: Dr. Fidel ÇAKMAK

The student: Orban KARAHAN

USING  SOCIAL MEDIA  IN ELT CLASSROOM

In my language classroom ı would like my students to create and to use both whatsapp(WA) and facebook(FB) in the classroom or outside of the classroom. Nowadays all students have smart phone or portable tools like IPAD with them.  Thanks to this, the students can participate in the online discussion and give feedback to each other. As a teacher ı will create FB and WA group with my students and let them to make discussion about any kind of topic that we learnt in the classroom. All students need to be member of that groups and use them both in the classroom and outside of the classroom. They can pronuncuate words for vocabulary lesson, record their voice and share in the group, by using this the other members of the group will have chance to see and learn more about that words and their pronuncuation.
Also we can share some reading text in our group and scan the text, find any grammatical mistakes, or find unknown words in the text. It will be an collaborative working and the students will participate in any place. They will fun and enjoy while participate.
